Teamwork, creativity, effective communication and ethical leadership are the foundation of the Mays MBA Program. At Mays, our goal is to provide you numerous opportunities to sharpen your skills both inside and outside the classroom.
Business Consulting Project
As part of their curriculum, all Mays MBA students complete a consulting project. Students participate on an MBA consultant team that works on an actual business project. This project adds value to your portfolio of skills by giving you real world experience and enabling you to put to use, before graduation, the knowledge you have gained in the program. In addition, it expands your professional network, thus, enhancing your long-term career goals.
Mays MBA Technology Transfer Challenge
Sponsored by Mays’ Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship, the Technology Transfer Challenge enables MBA students to compete in the development of commercialization applications for new technologies. These technologies show promise but are not currently utilized in commercial applications. After a week of research and analysis, teams of students present a commercialization assessment on their technology to a large audience of corporate judges. The challenge’s design is based on state-of-the-art knowledge management theory, demonstrating how knowledge management principles can be used to help evaluate the potential of patents and other raw technologies. It demands a level of creativity not possible with traditional case competitions.
Enrichment Series
During several enrichment days spread throughout the program, business experts and CEOs come to campus to share their views on topical business issues. These enrichment sessions provide opportunities for Mays MBAs to learn about various aspects of business first hand.
