The Admissions Process

  • Admission Deadlines:

  • Round 1 - November 1
  • Round 2 - January 4
  • Round 3 - February 28
  • Round 4 - April 15 

  • Scholarship Deadlines:
  • Significant scholarship funding is available to support your Mays MBA studies. Additionally, international and out-of-state scholarship recipients also receive resident tuition status as part of their award. This is a savings of over $16,000 for the total cost of the program.

    All scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis. Early application is strongly advised for consideration for major fellowship awards. Candidates wishing to receive scholarship consideration should submit a complete application in the first two rounds of admission

    After the first two rounds of admission, additional scholarships are awarded based upon available funding.

Close interaction between students and faculty is essential to ensure a quality educational experience. We manage the size of the Mays MBA Program to retain this personal character. Consequently, the competition for admission is high.

The Mays MBA Admissions Committee reviews applicants in the following areas:

  • Demonstrated leadership, academic and professional potential
     
  • Professional full-time work experience, with an emphasis on managerial experience. Click here to see how the Mays MBA counts work experience.
     
  • Competitive GMAT scores (GMAT code 7B7-K9-16)  

  • Completion of a four-year bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance in the last 60 hours

  • A current résumé, three application essays and three recommendations from professional sources (recommendation form may be found here)

  • For international students, TOEFL scores above a minimum of 600 on the paper test or 250 on the computerized version. If presenting the TOEFL iBT, a score of 100 is required. As an alternative to the TOEFL, international students may present the IELTS with a score of 7 or higher.

Personal interviews are considered in the application process. Interviews are offered to selected applicants by invitation of the MBA Admissions Committee.

Please note:  Applicants who have started an MBA program at another institution, or those who hold an MBA degree are not eligible for admission to the Mays MBA Program.
