Capt. Travis Habhab U.S. Army Mays MBA Class of 2007

This program has provided me with the tools necessary to mentor cadets at West Point and continue a successful military career.

Travis Habhab is an Army Captain and an Apache helicopter pilot. Travis graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor's in business management. He received a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Aviation Branch in May 1998. He is a graduate of the Army Flight School, the Aviation Officer Basic Course, the Apache and Apache Longbow Helicopter Courses and the Aviation Captains’ Career Course.

After flight school, Travis served two years in the Republic of Korea. At Camp Eagle, he served as Squadron Adjutant, Assistant Operations Officer and Attack Platoon Leader for 1st Squadron, 6th Cavalry Brigade. Upon completion of the Aviation Captains’ Career Course, Travis was assigned to HHC, 4th Brigade at Fort Hood, Texas, as an Assistant Brigade Operations Officer. Next, he served as the 1-227th Attack Helicopter Battalion Assistant Operations Officer from August 2003 to January 2004.

Travis took command of the B Company, 1-227th Aviation Regiment “Reapers” on Jan. 6, 2004, and deployed his company to Iraq for a one-year combat rotation. In Iraq, He led his company to conduct critical combat operations in Baghdad, Fallujah, An Najaf, Al Hillah and Al Kut. After completing his MBA, he will become an economics and business instructor at the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Travis’ awards and decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal with Valor, two Air Medals, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, two Army Achievement Medals, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon with two tours and the Senior Army Aviator Badge.

Travis and his wife, Tara, have a 3-year-old daughter and another child on the way.
